Fue parlamentario. Fund\u00f3 los peri\u00f3dicos <em>La Uni\u00f3n Liberal<\/em> (Villa de Cura) y <em>La Voz de Miranda<\/em> (Los Teques). Ingresa en la pol\u00edtica y es nombrado al Congreso Nacional hasta su prisi\u00f3n en 1888. En 1891 es nombrado Secretario de Gobierno del Estado Miranda; por razones pol\u00edticas es recluido de nuevo en la c\u00e1rcel de Valencia (1892-1893). Al salir en libertad se dedica al comercio y a la literatura, sin abandonar la actividad pol\u00edtica.
