Profesor universitario y escritor (narrador, poeta, cr\u00edtico, ensayista e investigador). Obtuvo el Master of Arts y phD. En ling\u00fc\u00edstica en la Universidad de Stanford (U.S.A.), fue un destacado investigador en el \u00e1rea de ling\u00fc\u00edstica y la literatura. La U.C.V le otorg\u00f3 el Premio de la Narrativa Julio Garmendia (1978), perteneci\u00f3 al grupo literario La Mandr\u00e1gora (en Maracaibo).
